Hi Jeff and Jean; I'm so very sad to have learnt of poor Phil's passing just this morning, and not to have made the funeral. I was a colleague of his at group three Central back in the glorious 1980s, and joined two or three years after him. He was always the most jolly and engaging man, with a marvellous and ribald sense of humour, and was a loyal and constant friend during my time in the job, prior to my moving back to Port Isaac to live in 1990. I dearly loved him, as did everyone on the shift. I hope today passed as well as these things can, and that you will in short order be able to reflect on all your own fond memories of him.
